Rio Ferdinand delivers huge PSG vs Arsenal Champions League prediction – ‘Get smoked’
Former Manchester United defender and football pundit Rio Ferdinand has never been one to shy away from bold predictions—and his latest take on Paris Saint-Germain’s clash with Arsenal in the Champions League is no exception.
Speaking on his Vibe with Five podcast, Ferdinand didn’t hold back when assessing how Mikel Arteta’s Gunners would fare against the French giants. “If Arsenal face PSG in the Champions League, they’re getting smoked,” he declared.
Ferdinand pointed to PSG’s firepower, particularly the threat of Kylian Mbappé, as a major problem for Arsenal’s defence. “Mbappé against that Arsenal backline? It’s a mismatch,” he added, suggesting that the Gunners’ lack of experience in the latter stages of the competition could be their downfall.
While Arsenal have been impressive in the Premier League, Ferdinand believes the step up to facing Europe’s elite could expose them. “PSG have been here before, they know how to get it done in the Champions League. Arsenal are still learning.”
