Man United & West Ham showing interest in former Arsenal star
Manchester United and West Ham United are both reportedly showing interest in former Arsenal defender Konstantinos Mavropanos, who currently plays for VfB Stuttgart. The Greek international, who had a stint with Arsenal from 2018 to 2022, is being considered by West Ham as an alternative to Manchester United’s Harry Maguire, after a potential deal for Maguire fell through. Mavropanos is said to be keen on a return to the Premier League, and talks are reportedly underway between West Ham and Stuttgart regarding a possible transfer.
In addition to Mavropanos, West Ham are also reportedly interested in Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe. The 23-year-old has struggled for game time under Mikel Arteta and may seek new opportunities if his situation does not improve. However, any deal for Smith Rowe would come at a significant cost, with Arsenal reportedly valuing him at around £60 million, using Mason Mount’s transfer to Manchester United as a benchmark.
Manchester United, on the other hand, are reportedly considering a move for Dusan Vlahovic, a striker who was previously a target for Arsenal. Vlahovic, currently at Juventus, has been offered to several Premier League clubs as Juventus look to cash in on the player. United are also exploring other options to strengthen their attack, including Paris Saint-Germain’s Randal Kolo Muani and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.
As the summer transfer window approaches, both Manchester United and West Ham appear to be looking to former Arsenal players to bolster their squads. Whether these potential moves materialize remains to be seen, but they highlight the ongoing reshuffling of talent among top Premier League clubs.
