The Tennessee Titans have faced significant setbacks in recent seasons due to a string of poor decisions in the NFL Draft, largely attributed to former general managers Jon Robinson and Ran Carthon. Under Robinson’s tenure, several high draft picks failed to meet expectations—most notably, 2020 first-round pick Isaiah Wilson, whose off-field issues led to his release after just one game. Additionally, the controversial trade of star wide receiver A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022 left a massive void in the offense that has yet to be filled effectively.
Ran Carthon, while a more recent addition, hasn’t fared much better in turning the team’s fortunes around. His selections have been met with mixed reviews, and the lack of immediate impact from recent draft classes has kept the Titans in a prolonged rebuild. These missteps have not only weakened the roster but also eroded confidence in the team’s long-term direction.
As a result, Tennessee is struggling to remain competitive in a rapidly improving AFC South. With limited draft capital and underwhelming talent development, the Titans are now forced to reconsider their team-building strategy. The damage may not be fully irreversible, but recovery will require smarter scouting, better leadership, and patience from fans.
