In a major boost to Oklahoma softball’s dominance, star pitcher Kierston Deal has reaffirmed her commitment to the No. 1-ranked Oklahoma Sooners, solidifying their powerhouse status heading into the Women’s College World Series (WCWS). Deal, a key component of OU’s elite pitching rotation, made headlines after publicly committing to remain with the Sooners, shutting down rumors of a potential transfer or departure amid increased interest from other top programs.
The announcement comes at a critical moment as the Sooners chase another WCWS title, with Deal’s return ensuring a deep and experienced pitching corps. Known for her composure, velocity, and command in high-stakes games, Deal has been instrumental in OU’s postseason push and currently leads the staff in strikeouts and ERA.
