Raiders NRLW coach Darrin Borthwick, alongside co-captains Zahara Temara and Simaima Taufa, fronted the media following their hard-fought loss to the Cronulla Sharks. Borthwick acknowledged the disappointment in the result but praised the team’s effort and resilience throughout the match. “We had our chances, and the girls dug deep, but we didn’t execute when it mattered,” he said. “There’s plenty to take away and build on.”
Zahara Temara echoed her coach’s sentiments, noting the team’s unity and determination. “We stayed connected and kept pushing right until the final whistle,” she said. “The Sharks capitalised on some of our errors, and at this level, that’s all it takes.”
Simaima Taufa highlighted the importance of learning from the loss. “We’re a proud group and losses like this sting, but they also teach you a lot,” she said. “We’ll review the game, own our mistakes, and keep moving forward.”
The trio remained positive about the Raiders’ direction this season, stressing the importance of growth and consistency. With several key rounds still ahead, they’re determined to turn lessons into performances as they aim to solidify their finals hopes.
