Former Manchester United defender and pundit Rio Ferdinand has urged a £40 million Premier League star to consider a move to Arsenal this summer. While Ferdinand didn’t name the player directly, speculation suggests he could be referring to a top-tier midfielder or defender who would significantly bolster Mikel Arteta’s squad.

 

Ferdinand, speaking on his Vibe with Five podcast, highlighted Arsenal’s project under Arteta as an attractive destination for ambitious players. “If you’re a player with ambition, Arsenal is the place to be right now. They’re building something special, and the right signing could take them to the next level,” he said.

 

The Gunners have been linked with several high-profile targets, including midfield enforcers and versatile defenders, as they look to mount another Premier League title challenge. A £40m-rated star from a rival club could be the missing piece in Arteta’s system.
