Luis Enrique declines Arsenal request ahead of PSG Champions League second leg showdown
Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has reportedly turned down an approach from Arsenal to interview him for their managerial position, as he remains fully focused on the crucial Champions League second-leg clash against Borussia Dortmund.
The Gunners, who are assessing potential candidates to replace Mikel Arteta should he depart, had identified Enrique as a top target. However, the Spanish coach has made it clear that his immediate priority is guiding PSG to the Champions League semifinals.
“Right now, my only focus is on Dortmund and helping PSG achieve our objectives,” Enrique stated. “There will be time for other discussions later, but this club and these players deserve my full attention.”
With PSG trailing 1-0 from the first leg, Enrique faces a high-stakes encounter at the Parc des Princes. His decision to reject Arsenal’s approach underscores his commitment to the Parisian project, at least for the remainder of the season.
Will this focus pay off with a dramatic European comeback? Or could Arsenal revisit their interest in the summer? Stay tuned for updates.
