Arsenal are reportedly stepping up their interest in Sporting CP winger Marcus Edwards, as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his attacking options ahead of the new season.

The 25-year-old, who previously played for Tottenham Hotspur, has reignited his career in Portugal, becoming a key player for Sporting. His dribbling ability, creativity, and eye for goal have caught the attention of several top clubs, with Arsenal now joining the race.

Edwards, who came through Spurs’ academy, never quite broke into their first team but has flourished since moving abroad. Last season, he contributed 12 goals and 14 assists in all competitions, helping Sporting secure the Primeira Liga title.

With Arsenal seeking more depth on the wings, Edwards could provide competition for Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, while offering versatility across the frontline. However, competition is fierce—

Newcastle United and West Ham are also monitoring the situation.
