In an inspiring move off the field, Penrith Panthers’ star halfback Nathan Cleary has announced a $7.5 million personal investment to convert one of his private properties into a fully operational shelter for homeless youth. The shelter, to be established in Western Sydney, will provide housing, meals, and support services for young people aged 16 to 25 facing homelessness.

Cleary, known for his leadership on the field, says the initiative stems from a deep personal calling. ā€œFooty has given me a platform, and I want to use it to help those doing it tough,ā€ he shared in a statement. ā€œNo young person should be sleeping on the streets.ā€

The facility, which is expected to open in early 2026, will include 24/7 staff support, educational programs, mental health resources, and career development services. Cleary is partnering with several local charities and youth advocacy groups to ensure the shelter addresses both immediate needs and long-term growth.

Fans and community leaders have praised Cleary’s decision, calling it a ā€œgame-changerā€ for youth welfare in the region. As the Panthers push toward another strong NRL season, Cleary is proving his impact goes far beyond the try line.
