In a decision that’s shaking up the college basketball landscape, the No. 1-ranked player in the nation, Marcus “MJ” Taylor, has officially committed to the University of North Carolina—ending months of speculation and intense rivalry recruiting between UNC and Duke.
“I’ve dreamed about this moment my whole life,” Taylor said in an exclusive statement. “Both Duke and UNC are legendary, but in the end, Chapel Hill felt like home.”
Taylor cited UNC’s coaching philosophy, family atmosphere, and player development track record as key reasons for his decision. “Coach Davis made it clear that he believes in me not just as a player, but as a person. That meant everything,” he explained.
The 6’7″ point forward is known for his court vision, explosive athleticism, and leadership.
