If Arsenal finish behind this Man City side in the league then questions need to be asked of Mikel Arteta..
Another Premier League season, another Manchester City title charge. Pep Guardiola’s side remain the gold standard in English football, but Arsenal’s progress under Mikel Arteta means they can no longer use City’s dominance as an excuse.
The Gunners have spent heavily, built a young, talented squad, and have had time to implement Arteta’s philosophy. Last season’s collapse was forgivable—this time, falling short again would raise serious concerns.
Arteta has done well to restore Arsenal’s competitiveness, but the next step is winning. If City lift the trophy once more with Arsenal trailing behind, serious questions must be asked:
– Why can’t Arteta’s team sustain a full-season challenge?
– Is his in-game management costing crucial points?
– Are Arsenal still mentally fragile in big moments?
Competing with City is tough, but Arteta was hired to close the gap—not just narrow it. If Arsenal don’t overtake them soon, the board may have to consider whether he’s the man to finally bring the title back to North London.
