Sydney Roosters fullback James Tedesco has confirmed he will be making the move back to Queensland next season, ending months of speculation about his future. The star fullback, who has been a cornerstone of the Roosters since joining the club in 2018, revealed that the decision was one of the toughest of his career but felt it was the right time for a new challenge and a change of scenery.
Tedesco, 32, has been linked with several Queensland clubs, including the Dolphins and the Broncos, but is yet to reveal which team he will join. His departure marks the end of an era for the Roosters, where he captained the side, won two NRL premierships, and established himself as one of the game’s elite players.
In a statement, Tedesco thanked the Roosters organisation, his teammates, and the fans for their support over the years. “This club has been my home and my family,” he said. “But I’m excited about what’s ahead and the chance to return to Queensland.”
